After a successful project in 2020 at Harrogate Town AFC, Harrogate Steel’s sports facility and ground improvement division, Sports Stadia, recently returned to the Club’s home ground, working with award winning architects, Bowman Riley, to deliver the full design, manufacture, and installation of a brand-new filming gantry.
Reflecting the Club’s progression up the football league, the filming gantry was built to the exacting requirements of Sky TV, BT Sport, and the football league, ensuring it a future proof addition to the recently promoted club.
Whilst being a small structure in comparison to the 900-seater stand erected by Sports Stadia last year, the filming gantry was equally complex due to the stand underneath having to be significantly strengthened to accommodate the weight safely. With just a 5-day window to complete the project between the last game of the season and the relaying of the pitch, the team worked quickly and carefully, factoring in extra measures to protect the pitch during the erection.
The new gantry will be used from the start of the upcoming football season, improving the quality of broadcast coverage at matches. Read more in the project case study here.

We are in the planning phase with Harrogate Town for yet another exciting phase of development, with more announcements from our sports division coming soon.”
