Harrogate Steel’s sports facility and ground improvement division, Sports Stadia, were appointed in early 2020 by Harrogate Town AFC to deliver the full design, manufacture, and erection of their brand new 900-seater cantilevered main spectator stand. At the time of the contract award the club were looking to the future and possible promotion to League 2, which meant significant ground upgrades would be required if they were to gain promotion.

The Sports Stadia team designed, manufactured, and installed the 42 metre fully galvanised and cantilevered grandstand, providing a one-stop-shop, hassle-free service to the club. The work took place during the Covid-19 pandemic and while the team was still using the stadium in preparation for their National League promotion semi-final game, so it was important that training was not hindered and that the pitch was protected and segregated over the duration of the project. The Envirovent Stadium is situated adjacent to a residential area and a busy NHS ambulance station meaning access was extremely restrictive, but a flexible approach, weekend working, and a carefully managed programme ensured that this did not cause any delays to the works. The resulting facility is both Green Guide compliant and ensures the club now meets the required FA Ground Grading after successfully gaining promotion to The Football League in early August.
