At Harrogate Steel, we are passionate about steel fabrication. We use the latest technologies and innovative techniques alongside long-established craftsmanship to manufacture fully compliant products for our clients.

When our warehouse assistant Simon Wilkinson expressed an interest in becoming a steel fabricator after seeing first-hand the work that happens at our Yorkshire-based fabrication shop, we wanted to give him the opportunity to up-skill and invested in his training.

We’re pleased to announce that Simon has just undertaken his weld test and passed! The experience he gained both watching and working with our fabricators, and in the classroom, has been invaluable to him and he is now an integral part of our team. As we are CE accredited our quality measures are very stringent so it’s fantastic to see that Simon has met our strict requirements.

Simon said: “I really appreciate the support from Harrogate Steel and am looking forward to developing my career in steel fabrication with a professional company that is going places.”

Dan Worsell, Operations Director of Harrogate Steel, said: “We’ve been impressed with Simon’s drive and hard work and are pleased to be able to encourage him to develop these important skills. Such skills are becoming harder and harder to come by and are vital to the future of the steel industry in the UK. As an ambitious company, we’re confident that by investing in and constantly improving our workforce, we can continue to go from strength to strength. Increasing our fabrication team also gives is more capacity in the fabrication shop which is vital to our continued growth”.
